The following guidelines will be used by the Selection committee to determine the suitability of all materials, however obtained, that are to be made available for check out. The intent is to approve materials that adhere to the goals and the mission statement of this library. It is possible some materials that have a Christian premise are not of Catholic doctrine or dogma. Since our goal is to follow the Magisterium of the Church, these materials will require the most careful scrutiny.
- Materials that have the "Nihil Obstat" and/or the "Imprimatur" designations have already been scrutinized by the named church authority. These should require no further investigation and may be approved.
- Materials from famous or renown authors of Catholic materials may require some scrutiny and may be approved if three or more committee members are in agreement.
- Materials from unknown or newer authors will require reading or scanning to gain the authors main theme or ideas. These will require the agreement of five committee members and the chairman of the Selection committee for approval.
- Father Joe or Father Ken will have the final decision for any materials where an agreement cannot be reached by the committee.
