SJB Weekend Backpack Food Program
St. John the Baptist's Backpack Program provides nutritious, shelf-stable foods to food insecure students in Warrick County each weekend during the school year.
What we are providing
Each week during the school year, a team of volunteers sorts, packs, and delivers over 150 blue bags of food to 4 local schools. Each bag contains items for breakfast and dinner, drinks, and snacks to help sustain children who qualify for free lunch at school when they are away from the school cafeteria on the weekends and holidays. We also provide some fun and faith-filled treats on Holy Days -- showing the children that they are loved by Christ and His Church! The bags are then discreetly distributed by school personnel to the students' backpacks to take home. This Ministry is funded by donations from parishioners like you!
