Way of the Cross - III. Jesus Falls the First Time

Weakened by torments and by loss of blood, Jesus falls beneath His Cross. Alas! More truly was He crushed to earth by the number and enormity of my sins! Good Master, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee. I love Thee, infinite Goodness! Help me to hate sin as the only real evil.

Leader: Then it happened.. and we knew it would. We felt mean, so we started rebelling and fighting and doing things that we should not have done. All of a sudden we saw Jesus there crushed beneath His Cross. We knew we had made His Cross so heavy that He fell.

Response: Lord Jesus, how can I refuse? I willingly accept my weaknesses, my irritations and my moods, my headaches and fatigue, all my defects of body, mind and soul. Because they are your will for me, these "handicaps" of my humanity, I gladly suffer them. Make me content with all my discontents, but give me strength to struggle after you.
