My feeble resolutions, my oft-repeated sins have crushed Jesus to earth a second time. Such is the malice of habitual sin. O Jesus grant me true repentance. Let me die a thousand times rather than have the misfortune to fall again into mortal sin! Help me to hate all sin.

Leader: It would have been so easy to have helped... It was the right time and situation... even the thought of it was there. We could have stopped what we were doing... and showed some concern... some interest... some care. All it would have taken would have been a few words or a phone call or a couple of steps out of our way... but we didn't. So we just didn't do anything... and that is why it hurt so much to see Jesus fall a second time. We knew we had caused it.

Response: Give me your courage, Lord. When failure presses heavily on me and I am desolate, stretch out your hand to lift me up. I know I must not cease, but persevere in doing good. But help me, Lord. Alone there's nothing I can do. With you, I can do anything you ask. I will.
