Stewardship of Time, Talent and Treasure

Planning Guide and Pledge Cards

Each parishioner is invited to reflect on and re-evaluate their gifts of Time, Talent and Treasure in light of their commitment to St. John the Baptist Parish.  Every parishioner is asked to give generously.

Take a Step…..

MOVE GRADUALLY TOWARD STEWARDSHIP

  1. Review the list of Ministries and Organizations available at St. John the Baptist Parish.

  1. Select those reflecting your personal talents, goals and interests.

  1. Complete your Time and Talent Pledge Card.  If you have children at home, make this a family activity and encourage your children to share their time and talent with our parish.  Sufficient spaces for commitment are provided on the card.

  1. Review your annual income and calculate 5% for St. John Parish.  Divide by 52 weeks to determine your weekly tithe and complete the Stewardship of Treasure Pledge Card.  (See Guide for Weekly Giving at the back of this booklet.)

  1. Insert both pledge cards in the enclosed envelope and return in the collection basket on Commitment Sunday, September 23.  If you choose to tithe by direct debit, you will also need to include the Direct Debit Form with appropriate signatures and voided check.  (Should you be away and not attend Mass in our parish on Commitment Sunday, please return your pledge cards at a later date).

Tithe with God's Blessing!

You are asked to give an equal percentage to other charities (for example, if you are giving 5% to the parish, give an additional 1% to CPC and 4% to other charities – for 10% total giving).  Please consider giving at least 2% of your charitable 4% to the St. John Parish Growth Campaign this year.

The effectiveness of this community of faith depends upon the support of our entire St. John Parish family.  As stewards, we are challenged to show gratitude to God for bestowing on us His gifts of time, talent and income.  When we provide financial generosity and gifts of service to our parish, we are making an investment that can pay dividends both now and in the future.  The community profits because through our parish support, we are helping to bring the kingdom of God into the hearts of His people.  And we profit because God has promised to reward such generosity:  "Give, and it shall be given to you."  --Luke 6:38
