BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SCHOOL PROGRAM

TUITION AND FEES - 2007 / 2008 St. John the Baptist
Catholic Parish St. John School provides your children with a quality education; however, the high quality can only be maintained through your support. The per pupil cost to educate a child at St. John's is $3,632 a year. We need to count on you for your continued support of St. John's Parish and its ministry of education in the school. We thank you for your commitment to Catholic education. A report will be given to
the school board at the September, November, January, and March meetings
for the purpose of monitoring the collection of fees and tuition.
TUITION:
A rebate of $100.00 per school year will be given to any family who utilizes direct deposit for tithing. If tuition is paid quarterly, $25.00 of the direct debit rebate should be deducted from each payment. BOOK
& SUPPLY FEE:
The supply bill varies from year to year according to fluctuating material costs. The amount is an average of the total school bill, which includes book rental, workbooks, the weekly magazine, achievement tests, paper for the duplicated materials, art material, and paper for grades K-3 and field trip transportation costs. Checks should be made payable to St. John School. TITHE: Exceptions, in the case of financial hardship, may be made by an appointment with the principal or a member of the pastoral team. The per pupil cost to educate a child at St. John's is $3,632 per year. Please keep this amount in mind as you pay your tuition and in your Sunday giving.

The St. John School Board meets monthly during the school year. All meetings are open with meeting agendas and unapproved minutes. Agenda items must be turned into the school office one week prior to a scheduled meeting for discussion. The function of the board includes policy-making and review and budget setting. The School Board and Principal set policies to meet the needs and goals of the school. Please note ...for further clarification of board policy, refer to the School Board Constitution available in the school office. When situations arise in
the classroom, parents should contact the classroom teacher and
discuss the situation. If the situation is not resolved a meeting will
be scheduled with the teacher and the principal. |

In summary, by the act of registering at St. John School, a student and his/her parents (or guardians) understand and agree to pursue the educational objectives and practices of the school as stated in this handbook and to observe the disciplinary code of the school. All norms and policies remain in effect for all students until and including graduation. |

St. John School recognizes the special needs of our students with diagnosed disabilities, and within limits, will attempt to meet those needs. St. John School accepts students with disabilities who have demonstrated the ability to achieve successfully in a regular classroom setting with accommodations. Parents of students with disabilities are required to discuss their child's special needs (Individualized Education Plan, IEP) with the principal or learning specialist before making application.
The public school cooperation will conduct an evaluation of a student
with a suspected disability upon request. (Upon receipt of parental consent
for evaluation, the evaluation must be completed within 60 school days.)
Parents may also seek an independent evaluation with a licensed psychologist
and submit the report to the school. Upon determination of eligibility,
appropriate moderations and accommodations will be agreed upon and implemented
by the classroom teacher with support from the learning specialist.
