ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH

MAUSOLEUM

On Sunday, December 3rd, Father Joe Ziliak, Pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish, led a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new mausoleum. This will be the first mausoleum built in Warrick County.

The groundbreaking ceremony audio is now available.

A simple blessing ceremony with a rugged cross draped with a white cloth marking the spot of the front door took place at the four-acre construction site - located at 5020 Bell Road (just across from Copper Creek Subdivision). The blessing ceremony and Scripture reading was be led by Father Joseph L. Ziliak and Father John Silva, associate pastor.

The mausoleum will provide multiple burial options, namely, in-ground, above-ground and niches for cremated remains. National trends show an increasing desire for both above-ground interment and cremation. There will be 360 burial crypts and 240 niches for cremated remains at the St. John the Baptist Parish mausoleum.

Site preparation and construction is currently underway with a springtime completion date expected. McCleskey Mausoleum Associates of Atlanta, Georgia is in charge of construction for
St. John the Baptist Parish.

St. John the Baptist Parish is home to over 5,600 parishioners and this year marks the 140th Anniversary of St. John the Baptist Parish in Newburgh.
